Lollipop lighting for San Francisco’s Public Transit
Our studio had the exciting chance to collaborate with Jorge Pardo Sculpture and the San Francisco Arts Commission to develop and create a public art installation for the Van Ness Rapid Transit (VN-BRT) Project in San Francisco.
This artwork includes two nearly identical light sculptures located on the Van Ness Avenue boarding platforms between Geary Street and O'Farrell Street.
The sculpture consists of 26 internally illuminated spheres of varying sizes, mounted on 6-inch curved steel tubes. The spheres are painted in vibrant, candy-coated hues of warm and cool tones so vibrant, they seem almost edible.
